Hello-I am so glad you are here! I’m Megan, a Licensed Social Worker providing mental health therapy services to adults at Central Iowa Psychological Services. I know that starting therapy and finding the right therapist for you can be an incredibly overwhelming process. The good news is, there is absolutely no issue/challenge that is too big or too small to bring to therapy. I aim to provide a safe, comfortable, and laid back space to come exactly as you are-all feelings are welcome! I enjoy helping people navigate anxiety, OCD, grief/loss, trauma, identity issues, life transitions, low self- worth and women’s issues. I have several years of experience facilitating individual and group sessions for individuals facing substance use challenges and have a background in hospice work as well.
When working with clients, I use a variety of practices including compassion-focused therapy, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. I always use a person-centered approach and tailor your therapeutic experience to fit your unique needs.
I consider it an honor and privilege to work with folks and walk alongside them in their healing journey. Feeling your feelings is brave work and your mental health is so important! If any of this resonates with you, I am happy to schedule a time to meet with you to see if we are a good fit.
I look forward to meeting you!
