Karin Beschen, LMHC, PMH-C

I provide individual and couples therapy for adults. My areas of clinical interest and expertise include pregnancy and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, depression, anxiety, grief, post-traumatic stress, and work-related issues.

Specializing in women’s reproductive and maternal mental health, I work mainly with women. My clients include those who are struggling with fertility issues, pregnancy ambivalence, pregnancy loss, pregnancy after a loss, transitions in motherhood, prenatal and postpartum adjustments, perinatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, and relationship challenges after the birth of a child.

I utilize cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and interpersonal approaches with clients. Along with attachment parenting approaches for parenting issues and concerns, I am also certified in Perinatal Mental Heath to help mothers in their most vulnerable time of need.

I enjoy supporting women and their partners in strengthening their coping and communication skills during this critical life transition. I also coordinate community resources as needed.

I’m a professional member of the International Cesarean Awareness Network of Iowa (ICAN) and Postpartum Support International (PSI).
