Hello and welcome! My professional practice experience includes individual therapy for adolescents and adults with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, PTSD or experiences of trauma and life transitions.
I am a licensed Social Worker and earned my undergraduate degree at Clarke University and my Master’s in Social Work with a Trauma Informed Care Specialization from the University of Northern Iowa.
Prior to my graduate work, I have worked with individuals with Severe Mental Illness in a variety of case management roles providing connections to community resources and general support in a community based setting. I have training and experience in working with those in crisis and have also dabbled in medical social work. I feel this provides me a good base of general knowledge to join you and your team of interdisciplinary providers on your journey to better health.
In Individual therapy, I utilize a strengths based approach, view individuals as part of their environment and employ body based work and mindfulness to process presenting concerns and encourage healing. I work to create a therapeutic environment where my clients feel safe, free of judgement and open to being their authentic selves. I strongly believe clients are the experts in their situations, circumstances and ultimately, their life! I am simply here to walk along side them to help navigate and provide support as they need it.
