What is Telehealth?
Telehealth enables clients to remotely connect with our providers for mental health services by phone, tablet, or computer. Central Iowa Psychological Services provides user-friendly, HIPAA-compliant video and communications technology. This allows clients to see and speak with a provider just as they would during an in-person consultation from their home, office, or anywhere they may be.
Keeping our clients, staff, and community healthy and safe, as well as maintaining mental well-being remain our top priority. To meet the needs of each of our clients, we are continually adding services to provide the care and support they need to stay healthy — physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Despite growing awareness and support for mental health conditions, one in every five US adults is diagnosed with a mental health disorder every year. Additionally, another 56% of Americans who have a mental health condition do not have access to or receive treatment.
Telehealth services are not only convenient, but they can also be particularly useful for individual client needs. For instance, people with autism spectrum disorder may find it easier to connect with a provider through a phone call. Those with severe anxiety can receive the care they need without having to navigate a potentially triggering commute.
