In
my practice, I specialize in working with children, teens, and young
adults and their families. Common presenting concerns that I work
with are attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and behavioral disorders,
depression, anxiety, and learning disabilities, adjustment to life's
transitions as well as struggles between family members. I completed
my post-doctoral residency with Juvenile Court Services and thus I
have experience working with adolescents with more severe behavioral
disruptions as well. My theoretical orientation tends to be a blend
of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Family Systems
Theory, and Play Therapy. I work to adapt my approach to best meet
the needs of each client.
I
also have extensive experience conducting psychological evaluations
for children, teens, and adults. Assessment may be useful for identifying
learning disorders, ADHD, mental health concerns, or personality issues.
In my assessment work, I strive to highlight the individual's strengths
in addition to their areas for change or growth. By fully understanding
the individual, the most appropriate and most useful recommendations
can be made to help foster personal goal achievement. I am also happy
to share these results and recommendations with your child's school
or treatment providers (only with your permission) by attending school
staffing meetings, IEP meetings, or through phone consultations.
